What is online therapy?
Online therapy is a form of mental health support delivered through a digital platform. It offers the same professional support as traditional impersonal therapy with the added convenience and flexibility of accessing Service throughout the UK.
Is online therapy effective?
Research shows that online therapy is as effective as traditional in-person therapy. It saves time travelling and can be done in the comfort of your own home or work, which might benefit your working week more.
How do I start online therapy?
To start online therapy, please use the booking link to schedule a session. Once I’ve received your details, I will email you a repeat Zoom link, working agreement and GDPR. This will provide you with everything you need to start your sessions.
What equipment do I need for online therapy?
All you need is an internet-connected device, such as a computer, tablet, or smartphone. Please ensure you have a quiet, confidential space set up before the session begins.
Is online therapy confidential?
Online therapy platforms use encryption and other security measures to ensure your sessions remain private and confidential. I use Zoom and a program called Write ups, which is GDPR-compliant.
Can I use insurance for online therapy?
Many insurance providers cover online therapy sessions. Unfortunately, I don’t work for any of the EPA companies.
Wha not if I have technical issues during a session?
If you encounter technical issues on Zoom, we can use FaceTime, WhatsApp, or old-fashioned Conversations on the telephone.
Can I switch from in-person to online therapy?
At this time, I’m unable to offer in-person therapy sessions. Although I understand the importance of face-to-face interactions, I am focused on providing the best possible support through Zoom, an online platform.
How long are online therapy sessions?
Online therapy sessions typically last the same time as in-person sessions, usually around 50 minutes. An hour-and-a-half session is available if you feel 50 minutes isn’t long enough for you, please don’t hesitate to ask or drop me a message.
