Empower Your Journey with Compassionate Care

Unlock a supportive space where recovery is possible, and every step forward is celebrated.

Meet Becky Stone

I’m Becky Stone, a clinical supervisor, certified life coach, and eating disorder specialist. I built my therapy business from scratch, without any training in marketing or entrepreneurship during my counselling course. It hasn’t been easy. But it’s been real.

Every success, every mistake, every moment of wanting to give up has led me to where I am now, supporting others to do the same.

I know what it’s like to be in a saturated industry, trying to carve out a space where your work can make a difference. As someone who is ADHD and dyslexic, I see things differently, and that’s become one of my biggest business strengths. I spot the small gaps, the overlooked opportunities, and the human stories that deserve more light. That’s what’s helped me build a thriving, values-led practice.

Whether supervising other therapists, coaching women to grow heart-led businesses, or helping neurodivergent clients find safety in their bodies again, I bring my whole self to the table. My work is honest, grounded, trauma-informed, and shaped by lived experience.

A Personal Journey

The Old Rule? “Don’t Share. Stay Professional.”

I still remember sitting in a training room years ago, being told never to put myself out there online. That client would “just come.” That directories and word-of-mouth were enough. And that being visible, even vaguely, might somehow harm the therapeutic relationship.

That mindset now feels like it belonged to a different lifetime.

Today? If you don’t have an online footprint, people might not even know you exist.

Because here’s the truth no one tells you in training:

Clients can’t work with you if they can’t find you.

Every client I work with reminds me of my own story, and I am continually inspired by their resilience and courage. My approach is deeply rooted in empathy and the belief that recovery is not just possible, but achievable for everyone. By sharing my story, I hope to instill hope and demonstrate that with the right support, healing is within reach.

A Saturated Industry, An Invisible Therapist

We are in a saturated industry. Not because there are too many therapists but because there are too few visible, safe, trauma-informed ones.

Big companies are dominating the therapy space. EAPs are underpaying incredible professionals. And social media is now the place where clients discover who they feel safe with.

You’re no longer just competing on skills. You’re competing on connection.

The Inner Conflict: “But It Feels So Exposing…

Some days I love writing. Other days I want to delete everything I’ve posted.

It’s a battle between procrastination and perfectionism, between I have something to say and what if no one cares?

But what I tell my supervisees is this:

Your presence online is not self-promotion. It’s service.

You’re showing someone it’s possible to feel safe. You’re helping the person scrolling at 2 a.m.

How I Got Visible (Even When It Felt Uncomfortable)

Acknowledge the Fear

It will feel vulnerable. That doesn’t mean it’s wrong. It means you’re human.

Choose Connection Over Perfection

People want realness. Not branding. Not polished. Real.

Experiment Gently

Pick one platform. Try one post. Please don’t overdo it. Reuse content.

  5. Don’t rely on directories.

They’re looking for you.

Imperfect. Honest. Human.

Rebuilding Trust

A Final Word of Encouragement

Being visible isn’t easy, but it is worth it.

You don’t need to post every day. You don’t need to be perfect.

You need to be real. Start small. But start.

Finding Strength in Showing Up

There’s real strength in doing the thing that makes you cringe.

In showing up even when your stomach flips. In posting, even when your voice shakes.

If you’re a therapist trying to grow your practice, know this:

➔ You don’t have to do it all at once.

➔ You don’t have to be perfect.

➔ Just aim for 1% braver each day.

Set a small goal this week:

  • Write one post.

  • Could you update your About page?

  • Tell someone what you do.

Because visibility isn’t vanity; it’s service. It’s how the right clients find you. And it’s how your work reaches the people who need it most.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you’d like support, whether clinical supervision or coaching, to help your therapy business grow.
