The Therapist Behind the Therapist

Empowering Supervision for Growth

You listen for a living. You sit with grief, trauma, joy, and everything in between. You hold hope when your clients can’t. But who has that space for you?

If you’re anything like me, you didn’t enter this profession to tick boxes or burn out on CPD hours. You became a therapist to help   , yet supervision can become another thing on the to-do list in the busyness of private practice or agency work.

But what if your supervision felt like a breath of fresh air? A place not just to reflect on risk or theory, but to reconnect with the you behind the role.

Insightful Supervision with Becky Stone

What Supervision Looks Like With Me

I’m Becky Stone, a BACP-registered therapist and clinical supervisor based in Canterbury. I work with both qualified counsellors and trainees from across the UK. Many of my supervisees are also neurodivergent or working in specialist areas like eating disorders, ADHD, or trauma.

In our sessions, I offer:

  • Ethical guidance without shame

  • Space to reflect on tricky client dynamics

  • Support for building your private practice or managing agency pressures

  • A warm, grounded atmosphere that blends professional insight with real-life perspective

Whether navigating your first placement or managing a waitlist, this space is designed to support your growth, not add to your stress.

Nurturing New Therapists

Why Clinical Supervision Matters More Than Ever

Right now, therapists are holding more than ever before:

  • Clients with complex needs post-pandemic

  • The rise in disordered eating, loneliness, and burnout

  • Their own personal or financial pressures

Supervision isn’t just about client work anymore,  it’s also about sustainability. About making sure you can keep doing this work without breaking yourself in the process.

For New Counsellors: Supervision That Supports, Not Intimidates

If you’re a trainee or recently qualified therapist, supervision can feel daunting, like you’re supposed to have all the answers. You don’t.

My approach with new counsellors is to:

  • Celebrate your growth, not just critique your gaps

  • Offer gentle structure if you need it

  • Encourage your unique voice and style as a practitioner

  • Help you navigate placement challenges and BACP requirements

You don’t have to ‘get it all right’. You just need someone in your corner who believes you can.

For Seasoned Therapists: You Deserve Support Too

Clinical supervision isn’t just for trainees. If you’re a qualified counsellor, you might be:

  • Looking for peer-level support

  • Exploring specialist work, like eating disorders or ADHD

  • Needing a fresh pair of eyes on long-term client work

  • Wanting help with boundary-setting or fee restructuring

Let’s be honest: the therapist role can get lonely. Supervision gives you a regular chance to check in with yourself, reflect on what’s coming up in your work, and receive care and give it.

The Value of Lived Experience

Online and In-Person Supervision in Canterbury

I offer:

  • Zoom supervision for flexibility across the UK

  • In-person sessions in Canterbury  Walk & Talk Supervision.

Times are limited, especially for after-school or evening slots, but if you’re looking for a regular, reliable space to feel heard, challenged, and supported, I’d love to meet you.

A Note on Neurodiversity and Lived Experience

I bring both professional training and lived experience to my work. Many supervisees come to me because:

  • They’re late-diagnosed ADHD or autistic

  • They want a neurodiversity-affirming supervisor.

  • They’re navigating burnout or masking in their work.

If that’s you, you’re not alone. You deserve a space where your brain is not a barrier to being a brilliant therapist.
