WORKING HOURS NOTICE

I work Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and alternate Mondays. I don’t work Fridays or every other Monday, so my availability varies week to week. The booking link always shows my live calendar; that’s the most reliable way to find and secure a time.

Book a Zoom Consultation

The only way to speak with me directly. Choose a time from my live calendar, and I'll send you a secure Zoom link. All consultations and sessions are held via Zoom.

Email Me

For general, non-urgent questions. I aim to reply within 24 hours on working days. Please note that email is not suitable for crisis support, and all consultations must be booked through my calendar.

WhatsApp is for short, non-urgent questions only. I’m not always available to respond immediately, and I’m unable to hold counselling conversations this way. To speak with me, please book a Zoom slot.

When do you work?

I work Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and alternate Mondays. I don’t work Fridays or every other Monday. My booking link shows live availability, so that’s always the most accurate way to find a slot.

Are sessions in person or online?

All sessions, including the free consultation, are held via Zoom. I don’t offer in-person or telephone sessions. You’ll need a device with a camera, a stable internet connection, and a quiet, private space.

What happens after I book?

You’ll receive a confirmation and a secure Zoom link by email. At your appointment time, simply click the link to join. I’ll be there to meet you.

Can I just WhatsApp you instead of booking?

WhatsApp is fine for a short, specific question. It’s not something I’m able to use for counselling conversations, and I’m not always available to respond straight away. If you’d like to speak with me properly, please book a Zoom slot.

Do you have after-school appointments for young people?

After-school slots may be available depending on the week. Please check the booking link for current availability. If you can’t find a suitable time, email me and I’ll do my best to help.

My teenager doesn't want to come. Should I still book?

It’s worth having an honest conversation with them first. Counselling is most effective when a young person genuinely wants to engage. If they’re uncertain, that’s okay, but if they’re firmly against it, booking a session is unlikely to be productive. Feel free to email me if you’d like to talk through the situation before deciding.

Can I book on behalf of my adult child or partner?

No, and I want to explain why. Adults have the right to make their own decisions about when and whether to seek counselling support. As a BACP member, I work directly with the person seeking help; I can’t take bookings made on someone else’s behalf. Please encourage your loved one to get in touch themselves.

What should I write in the comments box when booking?

Just a short note: who the appointment is for, a brief line about what’s brought you here, and anything else that will help me prepare for our conversation. Two or three lines is plenty.

Who Are You Enquiring For?

Whether you’re enquiring for yourself or for a young person in your care, there are a few things worth knowing before you book.

Support for Adults

If you’re an adult seeking support for yourself, please use the booking link to arrange your free Zoom consultation. I look forward to meeting you.

Important, if you’re enquiring on behalf of another adult (a partner, family member or friend): I’m unable to accept bookings made on someone else’s behalf.

This is not a bureaucratic rule. It’s about protecting that person’s confidentiality and their right to make their own decisions about when and whether to seek support. This is a requirement of the BACP ethical framework I work within.

If you’re worried about someone close to you, the most helpful thing you can do is gently let them know that support is available and encourage them to reach out directly. I’ll be here when they’re ready.

When booking, please use the comments box to tell me:

Support for Teens

I’m glad you’re reaching out. Before you book, please take a moment to consider the following.

Counselling works best when the young person genuinely wants to engage. If your teenager is uncertain, that’s fine, but if they are firmly against attending, it’s worth having an open conversation with them first. Sessions are most effective when they feel like their own choice.

Please make sure your child knows you’re making this enquiry and is happy to be part of the process. I’ll be speaking directly with them during sessions, not just with you as their parent or guardian.

All sessions are held via Zoom. Your young person will need access to a device with a camera, a private space, and a stable internet connection.

After-school appointments may be available; please check the booking link for current availability, as slots vary week to week.

When booking, please use the comments box to tell me:

Becky Stone

A Little About Me

I’m Becky Stone, a counsellor based in Canterbury, Kent, specialising in eating disorders, disordered eating, body image and emotional wellbeing. I work online with both adults and young people across the UK.

I created Counsellor Who Cares because I wanted therapy to feel personal. Not a waiting list, not a rushed appointment, and not a service where you feel like just another name on a list. Instead, you’ll work directly with me in a space where you can feel heard, understood and supported.

As a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), I work within a recognised ethical framework and regularly update my knowledge through ongoing professional development. Your confidentiality, wellbeing and safety are at the heart of everything I do.

All sessions take place securely via Zoom, making therapy accessible wherever you are in the UK. All you need is a quiet, private space and a device with a camera.

If you’re wondering whether I’m the right therapist for you, that’s exactly what the free 20-minute consultation is for. There’s no pressure and no obligation, just an opportunity to meet, ask questions and see whether working together feels like the right fit.
