We all have a dreams, somewhere we’d like to be, a profession we’d love to be in, or simply just going to a different place you’ve never been to before. Quite often, we don’t see our dreams as something that is going to happen or at least something that will happen anytime soon.

You all know the saying ‘follow your dreams!” i’m sure, but the truth is not everyone does it. It could be things like costing to much, not having the time or simply just not believing in yourself enough to reach for the stars, but the truth is, we can all do it, if we truly want too.

Here are 9 reasons why we should all follow our dreams and make the most out of life!

1) They make life worth living

Your dreams are what you can think of to get you through the worst of days, whether that’s thinking about how you’ll achieve it, or how far you’ve come, it will make you feel better. If you’re struggling, dreams can be the reason you keep going and that’s why they’re so important. They’re the reason you wake up in the morning an try again, they’re what makes struggles in life worth it, because knowing at the end you could achieve that dream job, or go to that place you’ve always dreamt of going too, or just simply doing something that you’ve always wanted to do.

Dreams are what make us want to carry on and keep us smiling. Without dreams, we would have no motivation to do what we want to in life, no reason to want to achieve the very best for ourselves.

”Keep your dreams alive. Understand to achieve anything requires faith and belief in yourself, vision, hard work, determination, and dedication. Remember all things are possible for those who believe.”

-Gail Devers

2) Working in a job you hate, isn’t the right way to live life to the full

Why should we have to work in a job we hate? You’ll count the clock, you won’t do as well because you’re constantly miserable, you’ll dread waking up in the morning and having to repeat the same routine all over again, that isn’t what life is about. It’s about being happy and enjoying the job you have.

Sometimes, we just settle for a job because we need the money, which is fair enough. But if you could have your perfect dream job and enjoy it and earn at the same time, wouldn’t you prefer to live life like that? A job were you can actually smile and be passionate about what you achieve, still pushing yourself but knowing you’ll get further and further, that’s what living life to the full is all about, finding that job you love and not settling for something you can’t stand and that makes you miserable. When you could achieve so much more.

”Live life to the fullest no matter what.”

-Victoria Arlen

3) It will make you proud and happy

Life without dreams can be depressing, because you feel like you have nothing to focus on. Search far and wide for yours, and make a promise to yourself that you will pursue your dreams. When you get on the path towards your goals, you will notice a change in how you feel.

You will be proud of yourself and that’s such an important feeling! Your confidence will rise, you’ll enjoy the excitement and the adrenaline that comes with doing something you’ve always wanted to do.

“The thing everyone should realize is that the key to happiness is being happy by yourself and for yourself.”

-Ellen DeGeneres

4) Do it for yourself, no one else

The sad truth is, when we want to follow our dreams, we do the things that others want us to do. Instead, of doing what we want. If you want to achieve something or do something with your life, it should always be because you want too.

If we decide to follow the dreams of what other people want us to do, that isn’t our dream that’s just what they want us to do. Don’t do it just because your friend is or because that’s what your family want you to do, or because someone doesn’t think you’ll be able too, because in the end you’ll just end up miserable or missing out on something you really wanted. It’s not living life if you copy everyone else or do something the total opposite of what you want to do.

”Stay true to yourself, yet always open to learn. Work hard, and never give up on your dreams, even when nobody believes in you. These are not cliches but real tools you need no matter what you do in life to stay focused on your path.”

-Phillip Sweet

5) You only live once!

Minutes turn to hours, hours turn to days and so on. We truly do not know when our last day on earth will be, as sad as it is. In the blink of an eye, anything can change and that’s the more reason to make the most of life. Far too many people spend their lives going around in circles, wondering what they’re going to do next or if they can even achieve what they want too. Constantly wondering what life is about, the truth is following your dreams plays a big part.

Just think you spend eighty, ninety years alive on this earth, that’s more than enough time to figure out what you want to do and pursue it. Don’t be that person that spends half of their life doing something they hate, make the most of what life has to offer.

”My favourite things in life don’t cost any money. It’s really clear that the most precious resource we all have is time.”

-Steve Jobs
